What most people do not seem to realize is that the majority of Muslims are not Arabs. Stereotypical, we are represented as such. I was born and raised in Europe. I immigrated to the U.S. as a young woman in 1989 and have been a proud U.S. Citizen since 1994.
I worked for the U.S. Air Force and served as a police officer prior to completing my law degree and a master’s degree in education and becoming a public school teacher.
One of my daughters is a college senior at a major university, where she plays basketball on a NCAA scholarship. One of my sons is a fashion model in NYC.
Additionally, I adopted four children whom I am raising as a single mother. I have two best friends, one is a Christian pastor’s wife and the other is a Jewish lady who was born in Israel. I would do about anything for them because they are my friends.
I am an avid horseback rider and own three horses. I ride almost daily, after work and on weekends.
If you saw me, you probably would not think that I am Muslim, but I am and I love my faith, but I also love being a U.S. citizen and I am proud to be an American.
