When I Said My Shahada, I Felt Like I was Finally Home

I have always in my heart believed that there was something higher than us as people. And when I was around 14 years old I started to be interested in Islam. And no, not because of a guy.

Since I can remember I have also been a person who reflected over small things. For example the sky, the sun’s color, the leafs in the forest. I started in 2007 to research on my own because I knew that my family wouldn’t be into me becoming a Muslim.

I became a Muslim 24th of November 2008, I said my shahada in my school and in that moment that I said the words something dropped from my shoulders. It felt like I was finally home and going on the right way. Since then it’s been up and down like a roller coaster but hey that’s life and no matter what happens - I have learned that what we go through in life makes us stronger and wiser and our struggles is to get closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

We should indeed remember that we are made with flaws but Allah created us to submit to Him. Him only and as long as we do that we should never be afraid or scared or feel hurt in life.

Allah is greater than your fears. He loves you and so do I as your sister in Islam.

May peace and blessings be upon you all - @lindafatimacph
